A professional Development Day for Dance Artists & Early Years Practitioners

Time: 10am to 2pm

A Professional Development opportunity for Dance Artists and Early Years practitioners, or anyone interested in exploring movement, dance and music with and for young children & families.

Sonrisa Arts has developed a new immersive dance and music show, Dance in the Dark, for ages 3-6 and families. This professional development day shares and explores Sonrisa Arts’ co-creation process, working in the community with families attending Warwickshire Children’s Centres and in schools, using dance, movement and music to explore the concept of ‘the dark’.

This training is suitable for anyone who is currently working in Early Years / KS1 settings or who is interested in working in these settings and wants to develop practical child-led creative approaches using movement/dance and music.

The day will be led by the Artistic Director of Dance in the Dark, Kath Kimber-McTiffen and supported by composer and performer, Anthony Kimber-McTiffen. This will be a largely practical session with time for discussion and reflection, please come dressed to move.

Bursaries for Freelance Artists

We recognise that working freelance is often a barrier to access these kinds of opportunities due to loss of income. Therefore, we are offering 2 bursaries of £100 and 2 free places to attend this training for anyone who would otherwise experience a financial barrier to attending.

If you would like to apply for a bursary to attend  please email partcipation@sonrisaarts.co.uk or send a short video application outlining why you think you would benefit from this training and confirming your freelance status.

We are committed to equal opportunities and are actively working to increase diversity across all areas of our work. As such, we welcome applications from all sections of the community. If you require additional support in making an application, or would like this information in an alternative format, please email kath@sonrisaarts.co.uk

Deadline for bursary applications: Monday 3rd March, midday
