ASSISTANT DANCE ARTIST WANTED FOR

EARLY YEARS CREATIVE DANCE PROJECT

 

Sonrisa Arts are looking for an Assistant Dance Artist to support the delivery of a new creative dance project for Early Years and families in Stratford Upon Avon. 

​

Families get Moving is a pilot creative dance project aimed at families with early years children living in the Bishopton area of Stratford Upon Avon using creative dance as a tool to enhance the health and well-being of local families and provide an opportunity to access the arts locally. The Assistant Dance Artist will support the Lead Dance Artist to deliver a series of 6 weekly creative dance sessions at Stratford Children and Family Centre for two groups. One 30 minute session for babies under 2 and their parent/carer and a second 45 minute session for pre-school children over 2 with their parent/carer.

Assistant Dance Artist duties include; 

  • Assisting the lead dance artist to set up and clear up for the session

  • Assisting with completing paperwork for registration, permissions and evaluation 

  • Helping to collect feedback for evaluation 

  • Joining in with the session and supporting individual children/families if needed

  • Handing out props 

  • Taking a register

  • Taking video and photos of the session

 

This opportunity would suit an early career dance artist or someone working in early years provision looking to gain experience in working with creative dance for early years and families. Applicants will need to hold a current DBS certificate.

This project has been made possible with support from Stratford Town Trust and is in partnership with Barnados’ Warwickshire Stratford District Children and Family Centres.

 

KEY DATES / VENUE INFORMATION

Workshops will take place at: 

Stratford Upon Avon Children and Family Centre, Drayton Ave, Stratford Upon Avon, CV37 9PB

DATES: Every Monday on 10th, 17th, 24th June, 1st, 8th, 15th July       TIME: 9.15am to 11.15am

​

FEE: £40 per week – total for 6 weeks: £240 (freelance contract)

​

EXPENSES: Travel expenses can be claimed for public transport or at 45p per mile up to a maximum of £15 per session
